The Bachelor of Health Sciences program has Academic Advisors who are trained to provide confidential academic support to students in need. If you’re looking for support with your degree plan, help finding academic resources, or just need some advice, our advisors are here to help. Further down this page, you will find recorded videos which provide an overview of what our academic advisors can assist you with, as well as further information about some of the most common topics that we receive questions about.
How do I get Advising Help?
Incoming On-Campus Bachelor of Health Sciences Students
For now, we recommend that incoming students hold off on booking academic advising appointments as more information will be communicated directly from the Program Office to you over the next few weeks (to your official Queen's University email) about course registration. This will include information about course selection and planning as well as a course registration webinar, all prior to when you will be enrolling in your courses.
Current Bachelor of Health Sciences students can:
Email the BHSc Advising Office:
Send an email to bhscadvisor@queensu.ca with your questions, and our staff can assist you or refer you to the appropriate person to assist you. Be sure to include your student number in your email.
Email an Academic Advisor directly:
Academic Advisors for On-Campus Students: Jeremy Butler, Terence Ozolins, Nikki Philbrook, Diane Tomalty, Laura van Staalduinen
Academic Advisors for Online Students: Olivia Giovannetti
Attend a virtual Drop-In Advising session:
Drop-in advising offers 10-minute appointments on a first-come, first-serve basis. To speak with someone directly during the course registration period, we recommend attending our drop-in academic advising sessions, scheduled from July 10 - August 1 and August 18 - August 29 with the following schedule:
- Mondays: 9:30AM – 10:30AM
- Tuesdays: 2:30PM – 3:30PM
- Wednesdays: 9:30AM – 10:30AM
- Thursdays: 2:30PM – 3:30PM
- Fridays: 9:30AM – 10:30AM
The Zoom link to join will be posted here at the start of the week of July 7th.
Book a virtual appointment:
Use our online booking system to schedule a 15 minute virtual meeting with an assigned advisor. Online BHSc students should book with Dr. Olivia Giovannetti, while On-Campus BHSc students should book with one of the advisors for on-campus students. If you are not currently a BHSc student, or are unsure of who to book with, please email our team at bhscadvisor@queensu.ca and we will be happy to direct you to the appropriate person.
Please note that academic advising appointments must be booked 72 hours (or more) in advance.
Cancelling an appointment: If you need to cancel an advising appointment less than 72 hours in advance of the appointment, please email the advisor directly to cancel.
Important Note: Appointment booking will not be available during the course registration period (July 10th-August 1st & August 18th-August 29th). During this time, students should attend a drop-in advising session or send us an email.
