Dr. Wagner completed her PhD in Psychology at McMaster University, where her work focused on developing, implementing and evaluating a competency-based curriculum for surgical trainees. Dr. Wagner joined the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University in October 2019 as a postdoctoral fellow, evaluating the implementation of online learning and competency-based education in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. In May 2020, Dr. Wagner moved to the Course Development Unit to continue her research and advise the BHSc program on best practices in competency-based education. Dr. Wagner is the developer and instructor of HSCI 190 (Introduction to Statistics).
Dr. Wagner holds research affiliations with the McMaster Department of Surgery, Queen’s Office for Professional Development and Educational Scholarship, Queen’s Postgraduate Medicine, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada where she conducts qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research in medical education.
