Dr. Monsanto has extensive research experience in the field of reproduction, having focused her doctoral studies on understanding the role of immune dysfunction in women with endometriosis and in women affected by cervical insufficiency. She also looked at potential therapeutic compounds that could treat inflammation in endometriosis.
She has been involved in teaching undergraduate courses such as Principles of Human Morphology and Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, and is now involved in both teaching and the development of courses in the field of reproduction. She helped design and develop the course materials for BMED 372 Reproduction and Development, which she teaches alongside Dr. Chandra Tayade.
